Tarac's Closed Loop Technology has
3 facets:
1. Grape
extraction, calcium tartrate and grape alcohol recovery
Tarac can quickly identify the best quality
marc to extract both grape skin and seed extracts. Marc not
suitable for extraction is processed for calcium tartrate
and grape alcohol recovery.
2. Solid
by-products
The by-products from Tarac's processes are
then used in a number of different markets. Solid residuals,
or 'spent marc' is used for composting and stock feed. Spent
marc is also being considered for a renewable energy source.
3. Liquid
by-products
Liquid by-products are treated through
a joint venture arrangement between Tarac and a major local
winery. This facility is considered to be one of the most
efficient and effective waste water treatment plants in Australia.
Research is on-going in the use of treated water to irrigate vineyards and pastures whilst commercial supply agreements have commenced.
