Tannins
Tannins are
natural substances originating from plants of various botanical species and can
be extracted using hot water, steam, alcohol or other solvents.
Chemically
tannins can be divided into 2 major groups:
- Condensed tannins (polyphenols)
– tannins from grapes
- Hydrolyzable tannins – tannins from plants other
than grapes.
