Permeate Distillation

Permeate Distillation is another of Tarac’s services which winemakers can use to ameliorate high alcohol wines.

Wineries can extract a permeate fraction by filtering their wine via a reverse osmosis membrane. This is generally undertaken via an external contractor or the winery’s own equipment.

The permeate fraction is then distilled at Tarac Technologies site to remove the excess alcohol. This de-alcoholised permeate can then be returned to the original blend remaining in the winery to lower the alcohol content to the desired level.
