Due to the position that Tarac holds within the wine industry supply chain, our seasonal peak period is considerably longer than most other wine industry companies. Vintage starts for us when the first grapes are crushed and finishes many weeks after the last grape skin is processed at Tarac. Sometimes our vintage can last up to 6 months.
Consequently, we are a good longer-term alternative for people seeking casual seasonal work because, depending on the role you are employed for, we generally employ our casuals for many months. We have some vintage casuals who have return to us year after year.
Tarac’s requirements for vintage staff varies but in general we are always interested in people who have a fork-lift license and are accredited to work in confined spaces. An intermediate boiler operator’s certificate is a huge advantage when applying for work with Tarac. Other qualifications and study that are of interest to us include:
- Front End Loader License
- First Aid qualification
- Certificate III in Food Processing (Wine - Cellar Operations)
- Certificate III in Laboratory or Warehousing
- Scaffolding level II
- Rigging or Dogging qualifications
- Elevated Work Platform license
- HR license
- Intermediate boiler certificate
- Forklift License
- Accredited confined space training
