Tarac applies a ‘continual improvement’ approach to its resource efficiency, particularly in relation to water, energy and greenhouse gas impacts.
On-going internal efficiency investigations allow for identification and implementation of key improvement opportunities.
Tarac’s Nuriootpa Distillery received a significant upgrade in 2019 with the introduction of a Pressure Rectification System, reducing gas consumption by up to 60%, and resulting in a higher throughput while maintaining the highest quality export levels for its distilled grape alcohol products. Along with a reduction in natural gas, electricity use, water consumption and chemical use efficiencies were also gained.
The upgrade has significantly increased production rates and the facility’s flexibility to produce grape alcohol to meet customers specific requirements.
